Albert Einstein said, “The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.”
Paul was a man who gave. Paul was living proof of how fine a person can be. He was a good leader to his team, a loving husband to “wee shelly babes”, and a devoted father to Ryan, and Dylan. He was also a good friend to many and a great colleague. The character of the life he lived can be summed up in a few words: he was kind, he was caring, he was loyal, he was funny.
I have known Paul since he joined Collins Aerospace as a Senior Buyer. Paul was tenacious, “The Fixer”. As such, he contributed much to the development of Collins. He generously gave us his knowledge, his expertise, and his skills. Paul was deeply concerned with improving performance and he was very keen to innovate. He initiated and implemented much in this field. For example,
Inventory reporting, Inventory optimization, Global Inventory sharing, and laterally, as a key member of the Collins leadership team.
Paul was a genuinely warm and wonderful individual—one I will miss greatly. My sorrow is lessened only slightly with the comforting thought that I had the privilege to know him.
Rest in peace Thommo
